Dear River Edge School Community,

We are pleased to inform you that email capabilities across the River Edge School District have been fully restored. You may now communicate directly via email with all teachers, administrators, and staff members as normal. This was a major effort by our tech team, and I am grateful for their excellent work.

To ensure the highest level of security for our students, staff, and community, we have deployed a robust email security overlay integrated directly into the district's Google Workspace.

This enhanced system provides comprehensive threat protection, including:
- Advanced Real-Time Attachment Scanning
- Link & URL Protection
- AI-Driven Impersonation & Spoof Defense

Dear River Edge School Community,

I would like to share an update on our email restoration process:

Direct email communication with our school offices, central office, and school nurses is fully operational.

If you need to contact a teacher or individual staff member, please use the contact form on our district website. You can find it by visiting www.riveredgeschools.org, selecting the MENU, then clicking the STAFF bubble, which takes you to the directory. You may also go directly to www.riveredgeschools.org/staff .

Our technology team is currently setting up an enhanced security overlay for all district accounts. This may take a few days. However, once this final safety measure is active, direct inbound and outbound external email to all individual staff members will be fully restored.

River Edge Schools: Temporary External Email Restriction

Dear River Edge School Community,

Effective this morning, all faculty, staff, and student email accounts have been temporarily restricted to internal communications within the River Edge Schools domain. External emails cannot be sent or received at this time.

There is zero evidence of data loss or compromised systems.

This action is a precautionary measure in response to a high volume of phishing and spoofing emails received over the past week. However, these emails are impersonating actual staff members using real names and email addresses, making these messages difficult to distinguish from legitimate communication. This restriction is a proactive step to secure the email system, not the result of anyone doing anything wrong.

Because external emails are paused, please conduct any district business with outside parties by phone for the next few days:

River Edge Schools will be on a delayed opening schedule for Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Due to the severity of the snowfall and early morning staffing concerns, there will be no before-care available.

Our grounds crew has been working to clear campuses for a 10 am start tomorrow.

The River Edge DPW worked hard to get the roads cleared, and believes they can have the corners cleared in time to support a delayed opening as well.

The River Edge Board of Education has revised the 2025–26 district calendar. There are two changes:
• Wed, September 24: Schools are closed
• If 3 (or more) emergency days are used, then Mon, June 22, 2026 becomes a school day with early dismissal.
