Update April 18:

The River Edge Board of Education met on Saturday, April 13 with our search consultant to fully review the application materials submitted by all of the Superintendent candidates. Using the outcomes from the input surveys and input sessions conducted with our stakeholders, the Board was able to select ten candidates for first interviews who meet the desired criteria for our next educational leader. Our district drew impressively talented and accomplished applicants, and we are grateful for all of the candidates interest in River Edge. We will be conducting first interviews through May 2, 2024.

Update April 8:

As of the close of the application window on April 5, (44) qualified candidates have applied for the position:  (9) current Superintendents, (7) Assistant Superintendents, (15) Principals, (8) Directors, and (5) candidates who currently occupy different professional positions in public education. Twenty-seven candidates have earned doctorates.

The River Edge BOE will convene in executive session during its meeting on Saturday, April 13, to examine each of the candidates' qualifications and to determine which candidates will be selected for first-round interviews.

Update March 26:

Online surveys have closed.   Thanks to all who participated!   

Survey and input session outcomes will assist the Board of Education in vetting optimal Superintendent candidates, and in formulating interview questions to be used throughout the interview process.  The survey results will not be shared with the public during the duration of the search.  By this method, we will ensure an authentic assessment of each candidate's strengths, and potential fit for our District.

Update March 22:

Thank you to all those who attended our live input sessions for River Edge family and community members on March 20.   Your time and insights are greatly appreciated!

We strongly encourage you to take a few moments to complete our online input survey if you haven't already done so.  The surveys are available in Spanish, Korean, and English.  The surveys close at 11pm on Monday, March 25.

Update March 15:  

The River Edge Board of Education invites all interested parents, families, and community members to either of two in-person input sessions with our Search Consultant, Kathleen Helewa on Wednesday, March 20.  Ms. Helewa will discuss the steps in the Superintendent Search process, and field input from participants regarding what qualities and attributes would make for an ideal new Superintendent for our school district.  These sessions are not meetings of the River Edge Board of Education and Board of Education members will not be present.   All outcomes will be presented to the Board to assist us in identifying qualified candidates for the position.  

There is no pre-registration for these events.   We sincerely hope you can attend! 

Morning session:  8:45am--9:30am, Roosevelt Library 

Evening session:    7:30pm--8:30pm, Project Room at the New Bridge Center, Cherry Hill School
